It has been to long since my words have come across this corner of the information super highway, but like my other compadres i have jumped on a new project. ELEPHANT SHOESSS is my new adventure. Much like the 317 crew this blog profiles for the most part electro with a few variations here and there. Come check me out if you feel the need, got some groovy tunes for everyone’s ears.

317 will be missed. The boys and I have had a great time running the site. The love of music is passed on through not only Aereal Noise, an other offshoot of 317 but also my new adventure Elephantshoesss. It is sad to see things go, but chapters concluded and eras end. The Elephant Crew is still in the opening stages of this blog so there are a few adjustments and considerations still needed to be made, but nonetheless some attention and traffic i am sure will get things moving fast. So enjoy lighting a fire under my ass with a little love for the former 317 readers.

A friend gave me a heads up to some delicious collaborations between Tiesto and Tegan and Sara the other day.  Normally I’m not a big fan of T&S despite their uniqueness, but Tiesto adds an electric twist creating one deadly electro-pop combination.  I haven’t heard much from Tiesto lately but that doesn’t mean he’s not busy.  You can find him currently on a US tour lasting throughout October.  Those looking for a road trip can travel down to Ohio to catch his closest upcoming show on Oct 12 (Cleveland) or Oct 13 (Columbus).  These two tracks particularly reinforced the theory to never judge something by its cover.  Enjoy as always. Thanks Amels.

Tiesto feat. Tegan and Sara – Back In Your Head

Another huge collaboration with the N.A.S.A. crew has come our way.  This time remixed by La Riots.  If you caught the last one on here (Gifted) then you know that another mash-up has been long overdue.  Within is an electric rap showdown of heavier pop beats…  MUSIC! MUSIC! MUSIC! MUSIC!

N.A.S.A feat. Method Man, E40 & DJ Swamp – Music (La Riots Remix)

Flight Facilities made an impact on me with their new full funk track in Best Party Ever.  Definitely one hell of a feel good jam. The vocals are reminiscent of great seventies funk.  Flight Facilities adds in some contemporary flare with the delicious sax breaks and some great electro grooves.  A party jam indeed but you may want to bring out the bell bottoms and roller skates just in case.

falke braxeWe’re halfway there! Only a few more days to go until the weekend.  By that time I will hopefully have gone through this massive pile of new music. School’s slowing me down a bit, but today I wanted to take a minute to remember back when Braxe and Falke dusted off some Jamiroquai tracks and turned them into ridiculous party jams.  These two tracks frequently come up at our parties.  So while I get my life back in order within the next couple of days, enjoy this, from my library to yours.

Jamiroquai – Runaway (Alan Braxe & Fred Falke Dub)

Jamiroquai – Alright (Alan Braxe & Fred Falke Remix)

In a few hours, Thunderheist will be throwing down at the University of Ottawa’s Arts concert for 101 week.  The show is free so get your ass to campus.  Show starts at 7 PM.

In other news, unpacking the house is going pretty slow, and unpacking all the new music I have is going even slower.  I haven’t had the chance to get to much, so for now enjoy these.  They’re top notch.

New Young Pony Club – The Bomb (KAOS Disco Bomb Extended Dub)

The Kills – Last Day Of Magic (James Rutledge Remix)

Cinnamon Chasers – The Elements

cinnamon chasers

Russ Davies has been hard at work.  The man behind the Cinnamon Chasers is releasing his latest today in an LP entitled The ElementsModus Records were nice enough to send us a preview and we are very thankful.

Davies continues to tweak his sound but within The Elements he redefines himself within the electro-pop soundscape scene.  Having already witnessed his exceptional talent in electric melodies (Luv Deluxe), the new LP changes scenes a bit to showcase how well the Chasers can captivate and entrance you with rhythm using a variety of techniques and transitions.  Modus was nice enough to release a track so everyone can sample but it fails to do the album justice because it’s threaded together beautifully and you really can’t envision that through one song.  Essentially, the LP is excellent.

The track we have is The Girls Are Getting All The Fun. It is a great example of how the new LP fits together.  Combining some dreamy-synth and hypnotic vibes you really can’t go wrong.  This is a temporary download.  It will be removed Aug 31.09.  Sample it while you can but most importantly check out the album.

Parallel Sounds

Parallels recently dropped a brand new video to their single Ultralight.  It captures the track extremely well with it’s neonized visual effects and choppy film transitions.

I’ve been a big fan of the Toronto-based Parallels for awhile now.  Their signature sound is extremely captivating but does not deviate too far between each track.  This generally means majority of their tracks sound very similar.  I don’t mind being a Canadian and a huge Parallels fan but anyone else checking in for the first time should know.  I’m looking forward to see more more come our way from Findlay, Dodson and Kehoe.  Next listed show is Sep 11.09 at The Mod Club (Toronto).

Parallels – Ultralight

Delphic – This Momentary (Parallels Remix)

Detachments – Flowers That Fell (Parallels Remix)

I almost didn’t want to post anymore Russ Chimes’ on here in case he was planning to release yet another stellar track this week.  If you have been in the dark, Chimes has been steadily pumping out remix after remix.  Don’t worry, if you missed all the goods this past week here is where we left off.

Crystal Waters – Gypsy Woman (Russ Chimes Unofficial Remix)

Frankmusik – Confusion Girl (Russ Chimes Remix)

Alright, i know i have been on a bit of a hiatus from the 317 scene for a bit, but I am back in action and have some grimy grimy stuff this time around. Been in a bit of the summer spaceman trip lately with the work and the party scene but i got some interesting stuff for everyone to check out, have a listen and take what you like.

bloody beatroots

First of we got the The Blood Beatroots with some interesting sounds junk on the fly right now. The First track i gots is with the Cool Kids. Admittedly not a huge fan of the Cool Kids but this track and a degree of grimy i kind of dig on. If you like that whole electro hip hop scene check this track. The second remix i have thrown up here has a real Boyz Noize Disco club feel to it. Give it a listen and judge for yourself. Gets pretty grimey and at about 1:39, enjoy.

The Bloody Beatroots ft. Cool Kids – Awesome

Timberland – Miscommunication (The Bloody Beatroots Remix)

The Bloody Beatroots – Ill to Destroy

I got another track from the Revenge, please check out their myspace i cant stress this enough. A lot of song i can seem to acquire so i have been forced to rock them off of the myspace platform, lame and i don’t like it but have to make do. Anyways, check out this new track, got some surrrrious flow to it. Just guna give some love to myspace and the the whole “friends” thing, came across this mother fucker Craig Smith as a result and am deeply dig on this track check it out. It has got a prefect build up to it which never really seems to blow up but rather expand and expand, you’ll know what i am talking about when you hear it.

The Revenge – Hotz 4 U

(I have had to link this Revenge track to another blog because for the life of me i can not find it any where else on the information superhighway. Give Hate Something Beautiful some love.)

Craig Smith/ 6th Borough Project – Do it to the Max

i will have more fresh stuff in the days and weeks ahead. Keep reading and let us know when you enjoy something.
