monarchy

The new demo from Monarchy is impressive to say the least.  The London duo are bringing some flare to some soft electro jams.  The track starts off slow until the melodies break into one another, from there it simply takes off.  I’m digging every second of it.  It’s hard to throw out a comparison for you because there’s many different elements to it.  A great mood track to carry you throughout the night.  Brilliant.  I wish I had a label so I could attempt to sign these guys.

Monarchy – Gold In The Fire (Demo)

russ chimes

Russ Chimes is a pretty sure thing when it comes to providing gold for the dance floor.  His latest remix comes from LA Nights, which is now available on itunes.  It’s the typical smash from Chimes who never ever seems to disappoint.  Myspace is a good place to catch more bangers.

Fabian – Heatwave (Russ Chimes Remix)

chromeo

I’m sure by now you’ve all caught the new single Night by Night from Chromeo released a few weeks back.  All the remixes have came and gone and for now, I found one that really leaves a punch.  Skream’s remix just barely edged out the new version from DJ Anonymous.  The laidback take does wonders to compliment the pop-based lead vocals from Dave 1.  But I still love the funky rework Anonymous does.  Anyway I included both, if you feel like sharing post your fav.  If you don’t have the original electric avenue has it for you here.

Alan Braxe is one of the few individuals who can reproduce mainstream music into listening gold.  Not that teeny boppers don’t have an ear for great music….”To the window! To the wall!” haha; I’m just saying that Braxe definitely knows how to turn it up a notch and it doesn’t matter what piece of music you start him out with.  The newest remix to hit us last week was Broken-Hearted Girl.  Fantastic Dub remix, but there’s a slow and bothersome Radio Edit out there… so don’t get confused.  The ‘right’ version is listed below.

The interview above is crazy fascinating and Too Many Sebastians led me to it so thanks for that.

Curing A Hangover

maserati

Friday nights are usually fun but can also be very deadly.  If you’re in the same condition as me this morning, chances are you could go for a couple tracks to make you feel better.  Luckily, I have just the cure.

Monoliths is one hell of a great instrumental.  It has a very sound ambient vibe to it.  Clear, clean, and constant, Maserati surely has tweaked out something brilliant.  Every aspect of this track grabs you, sucks you, and tosses you around before spitting you out.  The group hails from Athens, Georgia and will be breaching the northern border in the next month.  Watch out for shows in Montreal (Oct 01.09- @ La Tulipe), Toronto (Oct 02.09- @ Lee’s Palace), and Vancouver (Oct 08.09 – @ Biltmore Cabaret).

Maserati – Monoliths

Audraglint

I stumbled across Audraglint entitled, Frost the other day.  While it strays a bit from the usual upbeat party bangers we try to provide on here, I liked it so much I had to post it.  The epic soft synth carry-away found within is spectacular.  Very dreamy, ambient, and very soft.  The crew releases their own stuff on their own label Audraglint Recordings.  Find more on them via their website, but more importantly, check out this track.

Audraglint – Frost

classixx

Well I guess we’ve established the musical theme of this post by now itchin’ toward the melodics of excellent music.  Classixx recently undertook a project remixing Yacht‘s Psychic City that turned out extremely well.  I used to sit on the fence with Classixx.  With their developed style and sound I found them inconsistent about six months ago.  Now after some spectacular couple of months (you can find a numerous amount of their tracks on here) I’m a big fan.  They seemed to have tuned and perfected themselves to where they want to be.

michaelcassette

I saved arguably my favourite and best for last.  Something rare as some people tend to hit up the first couple tracks and move on.  However, this should be a rare treat for those who followed through with every track.  Michael Cassette‘s Moonlight Runner is a jam packed synth melody that is absolutely groovin.  I like how he conquers the fine line of producing dance beats all while keeping the mood very light and mellow.  Very interesting stuff. I dig it.

Michael Cassette – Moonlight Runner

Alas hopefully this helps you out, and hey if you’re not hungover I’m sure you’ll still enjoy them.

Alright fine… one dance banger to keep everyone happy.

Flirtphonic tossed out a new track, Bubble Burst, that seemed to catch a lot of attention lately- as it should.  The track has a unique flavour of dips and heavy electronic breakdowns to keep you bobbin’

Three Sure Bangers

goblincity

Someone was nice enough to point a finger over to Holy Ghost!‘s mix of Goblin City.  At nine minutes in length, it has some versatility.  It’s very playful and melodic.  The interlude grabs you within the first minute and then you’re locked in from there.  These guys from NY surely are mixing masterminds.

Panthers – Goblin City (Holy Ghost! Disco Dub)

mstrkrft

This next remix is lethal.  The original to MSTRKRFT‘s pairing with Legend in my opinion was too slow and strayed away from the traditional party bangers that I became infatuated over MSTRKRFT with.  The Jump Jump Dance Dance Remix eliminates this problem.  Tossing in a heavier bassline and some catchier rifts, this song is officially ready for the hardwood.  A little dose of that synth nearing 3 mins in just ties it all together.  I know you’ll like this.

Jump Jump Dance Dance are Etc Etc’s latest signing since PNAU and Lost Valentinos.   The Californian based duo consists of LA DJ and Vocalist Chris Carter and Simon Lewick.  Keep an eye out for these guys in the future.  This is only the beginning.

MSTRKRFT feat. John Legend – Heartbreaker (Jump Jump Dance Dance Remix)

classixx

The last hit comes from the duo in Classixx and has been patiently waiting in my library for about two week now to be tossed up here.  I watched it grow as various blogs covered it more last week.  Still relatively unheard, it’s too good to not take the extra time out and showcase it on 317.  The new take on Major Lazer‘s Cash Flow is mellowed out and absolutely terrific.  Great work threading in some light synth to carry you away with.

Yo, what are all you funky brothers up to, got a couple of bangers, once again for all my information super high comrades out there. Again i have kind of been off the grid for a little bit, school and work schedules are overlapping with my social schedule and well, i am not to happy about it. But I gots some tunes to get me through that struggle.

jayou

Off the top of the dome, we got this interesting cat by the name of Jayou out of the the ever progressive United Kingdom, more specifically Manchester. His sound can be a little bit aggressive but at the same a very serious groove. A lot of this brothers tracks are a little to “techno, club vibe” for me personally but the ones i have come across and ended up posting have a serious groove to them. Jayou has a “Hold the Phone” remix for that Kid Cudi Track Day n’ Night, you know HA, that banger The Crookers pumped out. I don’t dig it as much, but whatever you might and it is still a banger, give it a listen (at about 2:25 it gets pretty dope). I threw a few of his originals, have a listen. By the way, J5 have a track “Jayou”, i wonder if there is some sort of affiliation/connect hmmm…. The Township funk remix, has a really dope sound to it, can get irritating after a little bit, but for the most part this track is banger, listen large.

Moving on, New York has always been a hub for culture and music alike. Jazz, Hip Hop, Punk, whatever it is, if it hasn’t hit New York it isn’t cool in my books. Check this brother out by the name of The GRENADE, pretty decent stuff, kind of fresh on the scene but he has got a few tracks floating around out there. check these bad boys out, hopefully will spark some interest. I especially like the track “Phone Stalker” give this one a listen, i don’t think you will be disappointed at all friends. The other track is remix of a Scandinavian band i have never heard, but am defs guna check into. Check out his new EP “DinoBots” which has some pretty fucking sweet artwork, all classic video game based, pretty dope. Enjoy. … Just wanted to rep “The Culture of Me”  for this dope track, and a really interesting story to along with it, check out this post and have a little laugh.

Jumping right into a groovy change of pace, i got a couple of smooth and funky tracks i don’t think anyone can really deny, personally. The first track i have posted up, is by a jazz-hop crew called the Sharpshooters, simply some real smooth shit that you all should take a listen to, just some real smooth shit right here, i would say as smooth as peanut butter … Just ended up picking up this record, wow is it groovy. Invest a little time and get to know the Sharpshooters a little better. Nightmares on Wax have been around for a little while but i have just started to get into them, creeping on their smooth tracks for a little while now, shifting through some of the junk, and finding gold! check out this tune, just a slow burner. Really check these guys out if you dig on that smooth, jazz, hip hop, lounge feel.
