late nite tuff guy

The latest from Adelaide’s HMC aka Late Night Tuff Guy off Lightspeed Recordings is excellent.  A Deal With God comes off Tuff Edits Vol. 1, and it comes highly recommended.  The track itself holds some heavy bass while bringing in some vocals that resemble the remarkable Stevie Nicks.  I’m not sure if this is a sample or someone lending a helping hand but you are amazing whoever you are.  I can’t get enough.  Keep an eye out for Lightspeed Recordings in the future.  They are doing some great stuff down under.

Late Night Tuff Guy – A Deal With God

Usually Marina And The Diamond‘s vocals are almost too soft for me despite the brilliance she holds.  The talent she has is undeniable.  We’ve all witnessed her softer side.  However, when she turns it up look out.  I caught The Outsider recently and wow, amazing.  We wouldn’t expect anything less but the originality here is something else and I dig the new vibes.

Marina And The Diamonds – The Outsider

Marina And The Diamonds – I Am Not A Robot (Penguin Prison Remix)

Now to present my new favourite funk track.  You can say it has a pop feel but once that piano hits in the interlude I start to groove.  Tiedye gives this track exactly what it needs and I think it will definitely put a smile on your face.

DJ Kaos – Love The Nite Away (Tiedye Remix)

The Embassy – Lurkin (With A Distance) (Tensnake Remix)

Sebastien Tellier is awesome.

Sebastien Tellier – L’amour et la Violence

Melnyk’s new album Revolutions is out now.  The second album from the UK native offers ten tracks of fantastic electro discopop.  The album-titled track is damn good and can be found here.  The new album has brought about a few eclectic remixes, one being from the extremely talented Feeds.  How’s this for a fantastic dreamy soundscape.  Follow up with Melnyk, he’s mad good and the collaborations on the new album are great.

DCUP‘s latest is another exceptional remix.  This time the Sydney-based producer tossed up a unique spin to the Prior’s track What You Need.  It’s fresh out the oven and couldn’t be any more delicious.

Priors – What You Need (DCUP Remix)

We missed out on several remixes to 317 newcomer Bestrack last week while we were moving.  He recently released his debut EP Sunset City and it is simply banging.  Everything I have heard from him is brilliant.  If you don’t have these tracks below, you need em.  Every track offers something raw and unique.  If you dig what you hear check out the EP.  You won’t be disappointed.

The remix Justin Faust throws down is killer.  It is guaranteed to get the floors going.

GRUM – Woah (Bestrack Remix)

Bestrack – With You (Justin Faust)

Madonna – Into The Groove (Bestrack Remix)

Here’s something perfect to finally put an end to summer.  I know it’s a little early but let’s face it, school’s in session and no one is booking anymore summer vacays.  Night Max is another entangled member of the very fierce YALL production package we keep hearing so much about from Barcelona.  He is very, very talented.  Check out some earlier stuff here.

Night Max – Beach Hut (192)

I caught hold of Mark Ronson‘s dub-reggae take to Miike Snow‘s Animal and wow is it ever fresh.  The horn and key segment near the middle is perfect.  To be honest I’m not quite sure how he masks the vocals to adapt to his funky-ass beat but he does, and it couldn’t be any smoother.

Where’d it go? I though it was here a second ago…

I caught this track just before the weekend and that’s all it took to love it.  Fred Falke makes it real simple to love him.  Too Many Sebastians are excellent in regularly updating the public with dance floor bangers, and well, they helped me find this so thank you.

I love how innovative Fred Falk can be in making repetitive synth loops creative and interesting. What he does to Eskimo Disco is no exception.  Listen to the flavour that comes though when Falke throws down his hook.  It does exactly what its supposed to and catches you instantly.  Incredible track.

I am about to take off to the cottage for the weekend but before I do I wanted to post up a few tracks that I’ve been digging this past week…

Grum made his way back to me with this heavy take on Tommy Sparks’ Miracle.  This track is terrific. The combination of the chorus with Grum’s talented ability to provide a fitting backdrop speaks for itself.  I love the bassline.  This will be played a few times at the cottage I’m sure.  The producer/remixer kicks off an Australian tour just after Christmas so if you’re in the area hit it up.

Tommy Sparks – Miracle (Grum Remix)

The latest from Gloves was worth the wait.  Too Much To Dream is a b-side brought to us by Discodust and hones the dreamy synth filter sound that I love so much.  Soft and sensual, kick back and easily relax to this beauty.

Gloves – Too Much To Dream

This next track caught me off guard.  The SONIXX lightened up the hard hitting Bloody Beetroots for four minutes to make one stellar combination of traditional Beetroot mashing and light innovative music.  The vocals pop out the song a bit and help it reach that dreamy atmosphere I seem to be in for these last two songs.  It’s not your usual mix which is why I think I like it so much.

The Bloody Beetroots – Second Streets Have No Name (The SONIXX Remix)

This one’s for the cottage.  Maybe a little too melodic for some but I really dig it.  Love the vocals.

The XX – Shelter (Them Jeans Drum Edit)

Anyway, off to celebrate the 23rd in style.

Alright, i know i have been on a bit of a hiatus from the 317 scene for a bit, but I am back in action and have some grimy grimy stuff this time around. Been in a bit of the summer spaceman trip lately with the work and the party scene but i got some interesting stuff for everyone to check out, have a listen and take what you like.

bloody beatroots

First of we got the The Blood Beatroots with some interesting sounds junk on the fly right now. The First track i gots is with the Cool Kids. Admittedly not a huge fan of the Cool Kids but this track and a degree of grimy i kind of dig on. If you like that whole electro hip hop scene check this track. The second remix i have thrown up here has a real Boyz Noize Disco club feel to it. Give it a listen and judge for yourself. Gets pretty grimey and at about 1:39, enjoy.

The Bloody Beatroots ft. Cool Kids – Awesome

Timberland – Miscommunication (The Bloody Beatroots Remix)

The Bloody Beatroots – Ill to Destroy

I got another track from the Revenge, please check out their myspace i cant stress this enough. A lot of song i can seem to acquire so i have been forced to rock them off of the myspace platform, lame and i don’t like it but have to make do. Anyways, check out this new track, got some surrrrious flow to it. Just guna give some love to myspace and the the whole “friends” thing, came across this mother fucker Craig Smith as a result and am deeply dig on this track check it out. It has got a prefect build up to it which never really seems to blow up but rather expand and expand, you’ll know what i am talking about when you hear it.

The Revenge – Hotz 4 U

(I have had to link this Revenge track to another blog because for the life of me i can not find it any where else on the information superhighway. Give Hate Something Beautiful some love.)

Craig Smith/ 6th Borough Project – Do it to the Max

i will have more fresh stuff in the days and weeks ahead. Keep reading and let us know when you enjoy something.

Justin Faust is Still Kickin’

Give it up for Justin Faust.  The man representing Valerie released a bunch of new remixes over the last few weeks that are incredible.  Among the stack of beauties are these two gems.  Mad danceable, mad catchy, mad vibrant, and mad good.  Included in the new batch is also a new take on Missy Elliot’s Work It Out that has a lot of people talking.  Listen in on hypem here.  Find it hosted on Discodust if you want it.  But to me that track has nothing on the two listed below.

SomethingALaMode – Rondo Parisiano (Justin Faust Remix)

Edwin Van Cleef – I Want You (Justin Faust Remix)

I don’t think I’m ever going to stop liking really funky tracks that combine variations of disco.  With that in mind I’m also not going to fall off the DCUP bandwagon anytime soon.  So when I first started getting into the group a few months back this track hit me and it instantly stuck.  I think it will impress a lot of you.  The same goes for Le Babar. He is also good… really good.  His new funk track It’s On You is excellent.  Check out his myspace for more fresh music in electro, house and funk.

DCUP – To Be In Love

Le Babar – It’s On You
